5G Network..What Experts are Saying

Owing to the conspiracy theories going round the social media about 5G network, many false and non researched claims have been made about this technology so far.

Owing to the conspiracy theories going around the social media about the 5G network, many false and non researched claims have been made about this technology so far.

Here are some facts about 5G network

The scientific consensus is that 5G Network is safe and there is no proven health hazard yet connected to the technology.

Research also has shown that 5G just like other previous generations of cellular communication systems (eg 4g, 3g, etc) is a Radio frequency-based technology that uses electromagnetic waves form to transmit information.

Electromagnetic waves as proven by research are themselves non-ionizing radiation.

Non-ionizing radiation refers to any electromagnetic radiation that doesn’t carry enough energy per quantum (photon energy) to ionize Atom or molecules, that is, removing an electron from an Atom or molecule.

This implies that 5G  radiation is not as severe as x-ray or CT scan technologies used in our hospitals.

5G network being a high-frequency network has a lower range of penetration.

WHO research has shown that ” Tissue heating is the main mechanism of interaction between radiofrequency fields and the human body. And as the frequency increases, there is less penetration into the body tissues and absorption of the energy becomes more confined to the surface of the skin or eye .”

Talking about which country is leading in the commercial use of 5G. There has not been any expert consensus with regards to that.

But it is known that South Korea is the first to launch 5G in 2019. So the top Nations using 5G presently are China, South Korea, United Kingdom, and The United States.

In late October 2019 China introduced the commercial use of 5G in 50 cities.

So, linking the present global pandemic to 5G had been due to social media claims made by an American doctor Thomas Cowan and the popular American singer Keri Hilson.

As it stands now there is no health implication associated with 5G network that is beyond the possible side effects we get from the previous generations of networks  4G, WiFi, 3G,  and 2G we use today.
