Especially, when you are from Nigeria and other countries where text message two-factor authentication is not allowed for your Google account security.

So, you will have to maximize the features at your disposal for your security.

Ways to Secure Your Google Account

1. The first thing to do is to run your account security checkup to know the state of your account.

Running the security checkup will help you to detect your account security issues as shown in the image below.

You will then have to select each block of the raised issues to resolve them.

2. After running the checks, the result will help you to know whether to add or update your account recovery options.

Your account recovery options are email addresses and phone numbers you add to your account through which you can be reached for security verification.

The account recovery details helps you to block someone from using your account without your permission.

The detail is also used to alert you if there is suspicious activity on your account and for recovering your account if you are ever locked out.

3. Remove risky Apps that has access to your account.

Go through the list and remove any app you don’t trust.

You can also achieve same under the third party access section of your the security checkup result.

4. Activate two step verification on your account.
