If you would like to have all the posts and messages you have been making/sending on Facebook on your computer or phone locally through a zip folder, then you should download your Facebook information.

This process can also help you recover deleted messages on your Facebook account.

Steps To Download and Backup Your Past Posts, Messages, Contacts, etc.

1. Go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy.

2. select Settings, scroll down until you get to a section named Your Information

3. Then, under it, select Download Your Information, select the profile or pages you want to download their information from, and select the kind of information to download.

4. You will see Create file option in the request file tab, Make sure the file type you selected is “HTML” and then select Create File.

5. It will take some hours or minutes before Facebook generates your file, and then an email will be sent to you.

6. You can go through the link on the mail that says available files to download the file or you can go back to your download information after some time.

7. This time you will see an available file for you to download. You will be required to enter your password again and then Download the file.

8. This will come as a zip file, unzip it and you will see many folders within it with one html file.

9. Open the html file, and it will be loaded on a browser.

This particular file you downloaded, will contain all your past posts, photos, videos, messages, phone contacts, comments, etc. you have been making on Facebook since you started using it till the day you made the request for the file.

Irrespective of how dangerous it is to have this file in the hands of Hackers, it is the best way to backup your activities and posts on Facebook.
